What to get the loves in your life this year? For those of us who celebrate Valentine’s Day as a Day of Love-in all its forms, Limo.com presents a list of plausible gifts for those that your love (what a concept, eh?!):

Your Love: your grandparents/ grandma/ grandpa

The gift: Quality time. What do most grandparents cherish? Quality time with you, of course! So make Valentine’s Day about Grandma/Grandpa by booking a day date with them. Book a town car or limo to pick the both of you up in, and have it take you somewhere you know that Grandma/Grandpa would really enjoy-perhaps the theatre in town that shows older movies, or the museum, or book the car for the day and spend it enjoying each others’ company on a city tour. The activity doesn’t matter so much as the fact that you’ll be spending time with your grandparent(s) and showing them you care. Bonus: Book a Classic vehicle like a Rolls Royce-and have Grandpa/Grandma waxing nostalgic.

Your Love: your teenage son or daughter

The gift: a fun-filled day with friends. Sorry Mom/Dad-though they love you lots, teens are all about hanging with their friends (usually). Show them you love them and more importantly, that you “get” them, by booking a limo them and their friends to go hang out in. Even if it’s just to pick them up and drop them off at their different destinations, you’ll rule as the cool parent. Bonus: Book a hummer limo, and really up the cool parent vibe.

Your Love: your spouse/significant other

The gift: a chauffeured wine tour in wine country. Bonding over amazing wine with your amour AND not having to drive-what’s not to love?! Plus this date is gender neutral-meaning either sex will appreciate its value. Bonus: Bringing your I-pod or a CD for the driver to play during your trip scores you major romance points.

The gift: If wine’s not your thing, have the car pick-up your significant other and take them on a scavenger hunt, with the end destination being somewhere special to your relationship. It could be the place where you proposed (if you’re married), or the restaurant where the two of you had your first date, or maybe the place you first met; get creative and have fun with it. Make sure to book the limo or town car for a few hours to allow for enough time to complete the scavenger hunt. Bonus: Make the clues more romantic by leaving little personal mementos from your relationship at each stop.

Your Love: your parents

The gift: a chauffeured date night out. Your parents can kick back and really enjoy themselves if they don’t have to worry about who’s driving. Regardless of their age bracket, or how long they’ve been together, it’s probably been awhile since they’ve had a real date night-help them rekindle their spark or keep their love fire burning, by booking a town car for the evening to take them on their date. Bonus: Score major favorite son/daughter points by booking a table at their favorite restaurant for the evening.

Your Love: a first date-not really a love yet (in fact, we would advise against dropping the “L Word” at any point on your first few dates)

The gift: a first date night out. You guys are just getting to know one another, so you don’t want to go too extravagant on this one (unless you DO want to, then by all means, go for it!). Unless you’re a high roller, you probably don’t pick up every date via chauffeur, so even just booking a town car to pick you and your date up will make the date unique and you look impressive. The two of your could go to the movies, or Bonus: book an SUV for a group date with his/her friends.

The Lexus ES HybridThis luxury sedan boasts sustainable luxury both inside and out: the inner wood panelling is made of sustainable bamboo, while the backseats offer enough legroom for a passenger to comfortably cross his/her legs.

Cadillac Escalade Hybrid

With the best fuel efficiency in it’s class, and an unparalleled smooth ride, this is THE luxury SUV for the environmentally conscious.

Mercedes E400 Hybrid Sedan

Smooth ride, turbo charged gasoline/electric hybrid-oh and it’s pretty too.

*Some of these vehicles may or may not be available with every vendor. Please ask the limo or town car company at the time of booking about what hybrid vehicle they offer.

It’s the beginning to look like summer, which for many of you ladies out there means one major thing: the beginning of formal event season! Prom, birthdays, weddings-there are so many events where formal attire is a must! So what’s hot for ladies’ formal dresses this year? How do you choose? Check out Limo.com’s Annual What’s Hot in Formal list below for some great style tips (all photos courtesy of www.promgirl.com): Then make sure to book your town car or limo with us to travel in style while also saving some dinero.

A gown with Unique Details

From a unique design to strategic cut outs and tiny details, this year’s gowns are all about the little elements. And because the designs are focused on the little details, and not so much the actual cut of the dress, many of these looks are structured for a variety of body types. In the first photo, the cut of the dress sleek, with some rouching that could cover any “problem areas” below the waist, and it fitted up top. Unique beading, rouching and cut-outs finish the look. The middle dress has an empire cut, and flowing blue fabric. What makes this dress so unique, however, is the back which is completely covered in iridescent crystal beading. The dress furthest to the right is definitely not for those that are too body conscious. The dress has many unique eye-catching details: the cut and design, the colors, the beading-this dress is one of a kind.

The “short” ballgown

Described as flirty, feminine, and fun, we are seeing these pop up quite a few places this season. This style flatters a variety of figures, while also giving apt coverage where needed. The short ball gown is structured similarly to the traditional ball gown style, with one major difference-the bottom is a lot shorter. These dresses accentuate a little waist, as well as arms and shoulders, and of course, legs.

Sparkles-lots of them

Being covered head to toe in sequins is back. The style and cut of this dress doesn’t so much matter, as the fact that is must be completely covered in sequins. Completely.

Abstract one shoulder

The one-shoulder dress had been “in” again for a few seasons, however, this year’s dresses have changed slightly in that the one shoulder is usually made by an accessory, rather than the cut of the dress itself: examples includes a tiny string of rhinestones that trail over the shoulder, a small strand of fabric connecting cross-corners of the dress, or combination of the two, in the form of a beaded applique. This year’s hot one-shoulders are a little more subtle than their predecessors.

Structured corset top

This style has a variety of forms. The basic principle of this design is the top of the dress-which is in the form of a corset with visible structured boning. This dress actentuates a small waist and the upper body, and may come with a short long train.

Ruffles! Ruffles Everywhere!

Another ultra-feminine, ultra-flirty touch. ’Nuff said.

Love is in the air!

Yes, V-Day can be a bit commercialized, but the bottom line it is about you and who you love (or who loves you). This can mean your sweetie, your friends, good ‘ol Mom and Dad, siblings-you get the picture. Valentine’s doesn’t have to be a couples’ holiday (although it gets billed as such).

So, let’s continue with this line of thinking: if you make Valentine’s Day a day to celebrate those you love, what are some ways you can do that?

Wine tasting. If you’re in an area of the country known for its lush vineyards and amazing vinos-i.e. the West Coast of Washington, Oregon, or California, why not take advantage? Call up a bunch of friends and split costs on a wine tour, limo, or party bus. Wine touring without a designated driver can be a tricky situation, because you almost always end up drinking more that you think. This Valentine’s Day, give yourself, your parents, your friends, your significant other, etc. a break by hiring your DD and enjoying your day.

An evening out. Book a town car or SUV for the evening and head out on the town with your sweetie and/or your friends. Make it a simple dinner and a movie, or do something out of the ordinary like hopping to a bunch of different places. Bonus: give the “night on the town” as a gift to your parents. When’s the last time they actually had a date night? They’ll love it!

Valentine’s Day/Weekend Scavenger Hunt. Book a limo or town car for part of the day, and then give your friend/family member/significant other a list of clues. The driver’s itinerary will be “as directed by passenger”, so the passenger will follow the clues to the final destination/gift.

Here’s to celebrating love, friendship, and family! Happy Valentine’s Day!

Christmas has come and gone, but the holidays are far from over. We all know how Santa gets around over Christmas, but did anyone stop and ask how he likes to travel when he celebrates the New Year? And where does Santa choose to ring in the New Year? Since he chooses to book his New Year’s Eve transportation with Limo.com (he gives the reindeer the night off, obviously), we are able to provide a look at what Santa may be doing for NYE this year and which vehicles he chooses to travel in…

Vehicles/Cities:

Denver: Something to brave cold in that includes room for the reindeer? How about an SUV stretch? Santa and his furry buddies head to a cozy lounge or resort where they can ring in the New Year with some well deserved holiday R & R.

Rolls Royce Stretch

Vegas: Santa likes to differentiate himself from all the other VIPS by rollin’ in a Rolls Royce Limo on the Vegas strip. He hops from party to party-no need to be on the list-everyone knows Santa.

SUV

Portland, OR: Santa and his buddies pile into a brand new Escalade and head for Mt. Hood for some New Year’s Eve fun. No doubt he’s used to the snow and is a pro at snowboarding and skiing. He likes to kick back in the lodge after a day on the mountain.

Party Bus

NYC: What better way to watch the ball drop than in person? Santa grabs his favorite peeps and reindeer and they pile into a party bus for a bit of pre-funking before the big count down.

With so many good options, where and what will Santa choose to do? Can’t he do it all??? He is Santa, afterall….

From us here at Limo.com, to you, happy New Year! Don’t forget to book your designated driver.

1. A designated driver. Seriously, no one in your family needs to drive when you have us.

2. Thanksgiving Weekend Wine Tours. Some of the most elite wineries and vineyards open their doors to the public for tastings this weekend in Oregon, Washington, and California. If you’re in one of these areas this weekend, this is the perfect time to grab the fam, rent a limo, and try some spectacular wine.

3. A long relaxing weekend (unless you prefer #4).

4. The biggest shopping day of the year, which also means the most insane parking of the year! You know who doesn’t have to worry about that though? You! (see #5).

5. Someone to drive you around during Black Friday. Yes, that would be us. You rollin’ in a group? No problem-grab a limo. Is it just one or two of you? Kick back in a town car or SUV.

5 a. A warm vehicle to sit in early early in the morning on Black Friday, while everyone else is waiting out in the cold.

6. Yummy Yummy food for less than dinner out.

7. Tryptophan: the best natural sleep aid and cure to having to listen to Crazy Aunt Ethel’s two hour rants about her bunions. Pass the turkey!

8. Family time and togetherness (Oh come on, Aunt Ethel’s not that bad…er…right?)

9. Catching up with friends. Lots of people come into town to see their family (or head home). Either way, there’s usually some type of reunion in store for you, should you want to see them.

10. Holiday Movie Season. Regardless of what you do or don’t have in common with your family, you can almost always bond over a movie. Why not, book a car, and get out of the house for some family fun this weekend?

We hope to see you sometime this weekend. From us here at Limo.com, to you and yours, Happy Thanksgiving!

Limo.com's Simple Costumes you can Throw Together Using things you already have at Home!

‘Need a costume this weekend, and short on time? Then check this out:

Limo.com’s Simple Costumes you can Throw Together Using things you already have at Home!

Ghost costume: Throw a sheet over your head. Have a friend trace circles where your eyes need to be. Take off sheet, and cute openings for eyes. Viola! Instead ghost costume.

Caesar/Roman citizen/Grecian Goddess: Grab a white sheet. Look up how to fold a toga on YouTube. Drape yourself in the sheet, according to the YouTube video’s instructions. Grab a pair of flip-flops or strappy sandals. Spray paint them gold. Ladies, you may already have gold gladiator heels from this summer-in which case, more power to you! Grab some gold leaves from the craft store and glue them to a headband for your hair. Guys, have someone you trust give you the “Caesar Cut”.

Zombie: Grab some clothes you aren’t too fond of (you won’t want anything too nice). Take some scissors and cut pieces off the clothing, or shred the edges of it. You’re going for the “dilapidated look” so use your imagination. Ladies, grab some mauve eye shadow or really dark blush; guys, borrow your woman’s make up. Put the dark color under eyes to make your skin looked bruised and hollow. Line eyes with thick black eyeliner. Use red lipstick to create pustules of blood. Try red lip liner, or you can buy fake blood at the costume store fairly inexpensive prices-grab some hillbilly teeth while you’re at it. Ladies, rat your hair for an even more disheveled look.

Vampire: The clothes you rock with this costume may depend upon what era you’re from. Vampires are usually dark creatures, so grab you’re darkest sexiest clothes and wear those. Ladies, fishnets and a black dress are usually a good start. Dark heavy make-up, or super light skin and dark make-up work well. Use lipstick and or lip liner for bloody red lips. Spring for some cheap fangs at Rite Aid, or the like-almost every store has them this time of year. Guys, a black dressy vest helps with the “Victorian look”.

Mummy: Grab a roll of toilet paper. You hold the end while a friend runs around you repeatedly, covering you with the roll of t.p. Repeat, until you are completely covered head to toe. This also works great to portray a “head to toe bandaged person”.

Where’s Waldo?: Grab a red and white horizontally striped t-shirt and some dark wash jeans. If you don’t have the shirt, borrow one. You will know someone who has one. Grab a navy beanie or striped beanie. Girls stuff your hair into the beanie. Grab some black rimmed glasses (or borrow some, go to Goodwill, etc). Go hide in one of the busiest places you can think of…invite your friends to look for you.

Giant Baby: Put on a flesh colored long sleeve shirt or turtleneck. Grab that white sheet again. Fold it around your bottom half so it looks like you have on a giant diaper. Bonus for those of you who have giant safety pins. Borrow a pacifier from your baby, or from one of your friends who has kids-trust me, if they have kids, they’ll have a pacifier. String it around your neck. Borrow Grandma’s bonnet, or head to Goodwill to find one. Grab a “blanky” to drag around with you. Give yourself rosy cheeks with some dark blush. Cry if you don’t get your way.

Jolly Green Giant: Green tights, green turtlneck, green leggings, green face paint (you get the idea here).

It’s a busy weekend-so make sure you get your limo, town car or SUV as your D.D. and have a safe and happy Halloween!

Can you believe it’s that time already? The leaves are starting to change, the air is starting to become a little bit more crisp, and it’s time for the first big dance of the high school season: depending on your school this is either dubbed “Winter Formal” or the traditional “Homecoming”. Either way, you and your friends (or depending on who’s reading this, perhaps your child and their friends) need a safe styling way to get to the event. You obviously know where I’m going with this:
